Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

羊膽 二箇, 雞膽 三箇, 鯉魚膽 二箇. 右摘破合勻, 頻點之. 《類聚》

Translation

Two sheep's galls, three chicken galls and two carp galls. Break them open, mix them evenly, and dot on frequently. — Uibang Yuchwi 類聚 (Donguibogam · An)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Three galls broken open and mixed, nothing else — the simplest preparation in the section and the only one used fresh rather than stored. Bile on an injured eye is bitter and cold in this reading; in fact it is also roughly isotonic and sterile when fresh, which is more than can be said for the mineral pastes. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
