Translation

Treats flesh growing in the eye with a screen filling it and closing the pupil, and the breeding of a pearl tube. Seven cowrie shells burnt and powdered, and pearl, in equal parts. Grind them very fine to a powder and dot it on the screen flesh; in five applications it is cured. — Cheongeumbang 千金 (Donguibogam · An)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Two shells ground to a powder, applied directly to the growth. It is abrasive and nothing else, and the Cheongeumbang's five applications is a measure of confidence rather than of effect; the pearl tube in the indication is a granulation tract, which does need removing, but not like this. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
