Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治濕熱傷脾, 遺精. 韭子(炒) 一兩, 白芍藥(炒) 五錢, 黃柏ㆍ知母(幷鹽水炒)ㆍ牡蠣(煆) 各三錢, 白朮ㆍ枳實ㆍ茯苓ㆍ柴胡ㆍ升麻各二錢. 右爲末, 神麴糊和丸梧子大, 空心, 鹽湯下五十丸.

Translation

Treats damp heat damaging the spleen, with seminal emission. Leek seed (stir-fried) 1 nyang; white peony (stir-fried) 5 don; phellodendron and anemarrhena (both salt-water fried) and oyster shell (calcined) 3 don each; white atractylodes, immature bitter orange, poria, bupleurum and cimicifuga 2 don each. Powder them, bind with leaven paste into pills the size of a firmiana seed, and take fifty on an empty stomach with salt decoction. — Donguibogam · Jeong

Clinical commentary 臨床

The one formula in the chapter that reads seminal loss as the spleen's failure rather than the kidney's — 濕熱傷脾, damp heat damaging the spleen — and it is Dongwon's method: bupleurum and cimicifuga to lift, atractylodes and bitter orange to move, the cooling pair to clear.
