Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治久嗽. 鸎粟殼(蜜炒黃色) 一兩, 人參ㆍ欵冬花各五錢, 知母ㆍ貝母ㆍ半夏(製) 各三錢. 右爲麄末, 每五錢, 烏梅一箇同水煎服. 《綱目》

Translation

Treats long-standing cough. Poppy capsule honey-fried to a yellow colour, 1 nyang; ginseng and coltsfoot, 5 don each; anemarrhena, fritillary and processed pinellia, 3 don each. Make a coarse powder; 5 don each time, decocted in water with one smoked plum. — Uihak Gangmok 綱目 (Donguibogam · Haesu)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The same construction as Gusin-san and from the same source — poppy capsule at the head, ginseng and coltsfoot under it — with anemarrhena and fritillary in place of the astringent pair. Coltsfoot is the chapter's signature cough drug and gives four of its formulas their names. **Contains poppy capsule, the source of opium and a controlled substance.
