Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治痰嗽咽乾, 聲不出. 人參ㆍ陳皮ㆍ貝母(炒) 各一錢半, 半夏ㆍ桔梗ㆍ茯苓ㆍ桑白皮ㆍ知母ㆍ枳殼ㆍ杏仁ㆍ黃連各一錢, 款冬花七分, 麥門冬ㆍ地骨皮ㆍ甘草各五分, 五味子二十箇. 右剉, 分作二貼, 每服薑三片, 水煎服. 《丹心》

Translation

Treats phlegmy cough with a dry throat and the voice not coming out. Ginseng, tangerine peel and fritillaria (stir-fried) 1 don 5 pun each; pinellia, platycodon, poria, mulberry root bark, anemarrhena, bitter orange, apricot kernel and coptis 1 don each; coltsfoot 7 pun; ophiopogon, lycium root bark and licorice 5 pun each; schisandra 20 pieces. Cut up and divide into two packets; for each dose add 3 slices of ginger, decoct in water and take. — Dansim 丹心 (Donguibogam · Seongeum)

Sixteen medicinals covering the whole of the Cough chapter at once — phlegm, heat, dryness and depletion together — with ginseng at the head because the voice has already been spent.
