Clinical commentary 臨床

A version of the old Insam-paedok-san enlarged for the head: vitex fruit, gastrodia and mint for the face and temples, mulberry root bark and scutellaria for the lung. It is a mild exterior-resolving formula, and the only reason it stands in this chapter is the tradition's conflation of wind stroke with wind-heat fever. Taken on its own terms, it is a reasonable prescription for a feverish upper respiratory illness in a depleted patient. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
