Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治陰黃. 附子(炮)ㆍ乾薑(炮) 各二錢, 茵蔯一錢二分, 草豆蔲一錢, 枳實ㆍ半夏ㆍ澤瀉各五分, 白朮四分, 白茯苓ㆍ橘紅各三分. 右剉, 作一貼, 薑五片, 水煎服. 《綱目》

Translation

Treats yin jaundice. Aconite (blast-fried) and dry ginger (blast-fried) 2 don each; virgate wormwood 1 don 2 pun; tsaoko 1 don; bitter orange fruit, pinellia and alisma 5 pun each; white atractylodes 4 pun; white poria and red tangerine peel 3 pun each. Cut up, make one packet, add 5 slices of ginger, decoct in water and take. — Uihak Gangmok 綱目 (Donguibogam · Hwangdal)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The one formula in the section not built on the virgate wormwood base, and the proportions are reversed accordingly: aconite and dry ginger lead at two don each while virgate wormwood is cut to a don and two pun. It is a warming formula with a jaundice medicinal in it rather than the other way round. That inversion is the section's argument in miniature.
