Donguibogam

Translation

Treats running-piglet mounting qi surging upward, and small-intestine qi with great pain of the navel and abdomen. Corydalis, toosendan flesh, whole scorpion (stir-fried) and fennel (stir-fried). Powder them and take 1 don at a time stirred into hot wine — divinely proven. — Uihak Jeongjeon 正傳 (Donguibogam · Jeoneum)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Four medicinals, a don at a time in hot wine, and no pill-making — the quickest thing in the section. Corydalis and scorpion for the pain, toosendan and fennel for the qi that is driving it. A pinch of gold: the name is a claim about how little is needed. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
