Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治耳熱出汁作痒, 乃痰火也. 防風ㆍ貝母ㆍ天花粉ㆍ黃栢(鹽水炒)ㆍ白茯苓ㆍ玄參ㆍ白芷ㆍ蔓荊子ㆍ天麻ㆍ半夏(製) 各一錢, 甘草五分. 右剉, 作一貼, 入薑三片, 水煎, 食後服. 《醫鑑》

Translation

Treats the ear hot with a discharge and itching — this is phlegm fire. Saposhnikovia, fritillaria, trichosanthes root, phellodendron (salt-water fried), white poria, scrophularia, angelica dahurica, vitex fruit, gastrodia and pinellia (processed) 1 don each; licorice 5 pun. Cut up, make one packet, add 3 slices of ginger, decoct in water and take after food. — Gogeum Uigam 醫鑑 (Donguibogam · I)

Clinical commentary 臨床

4.6.1's case is an itch in the ear that came once a day and had to be scratched until it bled before it eased — which the Deukhyo said could not be treated by ordinary means. This is the Uigam's answer to the milder form. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
