Clinical commentary 臨床

Hyangyu-san with the hyacinth bean dropped and coptis put in, which is the standard way of turning the chapter's base formula toward heat. Three drugs in a two-to-one-to-half ratio and the instruction to drink it cold: the cooling is part of the prescription, not a nicety, and the little wine is there to carry the aromatics. Of the elsholtzia formulas this is the one for the patient who is thirsty rather than nauseated. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
