Translation
Treats abdominal pain from accumulated cold. White dried ginger 5 nyang, fried black with 2 don 2 pun 5 ri of croton flesh, the croton then discarded; lesser galangal 5 nyang, fried black with 25 blister beetles, the beetles then discarded; acorus 5 nyang, not fried; glutinous rice 6 nyang, fried yellow. Powder them and take 2 don at a time stirred into warm wine. — Jikji 直指 (Donguibogam · Bok) A farmer, drunk and full, slept a night in the open on a single pillow until daybreak, and from then on had a stabbing spleen pain that a hundred medicines did not touch; he dragged on for several years. Later he met a perfected man who gave him Drawn Blade Powder, and taking it a few times with warm wine he was cured at once. From this one knows that the root of the wind and dew had entered the stomach: galangal and acorus can scatter the evil, and croton and beetle, lending their force, can cut down its root — hence such an effect.
