Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治衄血. 柴胡ㆍ黃連ㆍ黃芩ㆍ黃芪ㆍ地骨皮ㆍ生地黃ㆍ熟地黃ㆍ白芍藥各一錢. 右剉, 水煎服. 《入門》

Translation

Treats nosebleed. Bupleurum, coptis, scutellaria, astragalus, lycium root bark, fresh rehmannia, cooked rehmannia and white peony 1 don each. Cut up, decoct in water and take. — Uihak Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Hyeol)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Eight medicinals at an even don, half clearing and half supplementing. The depression of the name is the same one Sagung-san treats — heat pent up with nowhere to go — but this formula answers it with bupleurum and the two coptis-scutellaria rather than with qi-movers. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl.
