Translation

Treats itching of the eye in the extreme. Chuanxiong, schizonepeta and aconite main root (blast-fried) 5 don each; notopterygium and saposhnikovia 2 don 5 pun each. Powder them and take 2 don at a time after food, stirred into mint decoction. — Seui Deukhyobang 得效 (Donguibogam · An)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Five medicinals, all wind drugs, for an itch the chapter grades as extreme — and the Deukhyobang's reasoning is Hejian's from the Skin chapter, that an itch is wind and a mild fire, so disperse rather than cool. The aconite is blast-fried and is the strongest thing here. **Contains aconite main root, which is toxic. This must not be prepared.** — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
