Translation

Treats rotten-rim wind, a floating screen, proud flesh creeping over the eye, roughness, itching and discharge with tears. Gentian and saposhnikovia 5 don each; verdigris 3 don; gall-nut 2 don; a handful of bamboo leaf. Grind to a coarse powder; steep 1 don in two hop of hot water, let it settle clear, and wash with it — immediate effect. — Seui Deukhyobang 得效 (Donguibogam · An)

Clinical commentary 臨床

An infusion rather than a decoction — steeped in hot water, settled, and used as a wash. Gentian and gall-nut are both astringent and antiseptic, and the combination on an ulcerated lid margin is sound; the verdigris, a copper salt, is what to leave out. **Contains verdigris, a copper salt, used as an eye wash. Prepare without it.** — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
