Translation

Treats abiding food undispersed; fortifies the Spleen and boosts Qi. Ginseng, amomum, cyperus, sparganium and curcuma (both ember-roasted), green tangerine peel, tangerine peel, dry-fried medicated leaven, dry-fried barley sprout, and bitter orange husk, in equal parts. Powder the above and bind with a rice paste into pills the size of parasol-tree seeds; take 30–50 pills with thin rice water. — Deukhyo 得效 (Donguibogam · Naesang)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Ten herbs at perfectly flat dose, ginseng standing in the same rank as the ember-tamed breakers — the Deukhyo's working answer to the supplement-or-disperse question: at equal parts, you need not choose. Named for the spirit of grain it serves both ways. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
