Clinical commentary 臨床

Poppy husk at the head in twice the dose of anything else, which makes the formula's intention plain: this is for a dysentery that has gone on until the frequency itself is the illness. The rest — peony, tangkuei, licorice, a little ginseng — nourishes and relaxes around it. Vinegar stir-frying of the husk is the standard preparation, and the next formula is the same idea in the tradition's most famous version. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
