Translation

Treats the resting dysentery. Jinin-yangjang-tang with aconite, unripe tangerine peel, lindera and poria added. Cut up, add three slices of ginger and two jujubes, and decoct. — Seui Deukhyobang 得效 (Donguibogam · Daebyeon)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The resting dysentery is the chapter's name for one that remits and returns — it rests and then wakes — and it is the pattern of a chronic inflammatory bowel disease rather than an infection. The Deukhyo's answer is the standard holding formula with aconite added for the cold underneath and three qi movers so that the holding does not stagnate. For a relapsing illness that is the right shape of prescription: treat the ground rather than the episode. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
