Translation

Treats kidney vacuity with the eyes dim, gradually becoming an internal obstruction. Poria 4 nyang, half red and half white; lycium fruit (wine-steeped) 2 nyang; cuscuta (wine-processed) and Korean angelica 1 nyang each; blue salt 5 don. Powder them, make honey pills the size of parasol-tree seeds, and take fifty to seventy on an empty stomach with warm water. — Danggye Simbeop 丹心 (Donguibogam · An)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Five medicinals, and poria leads at four nyang — half red and half white, which is Danggye taking both the draining and the quieting action of the same drug at once. Against the twenty-drug formulas beside it this is the small one, for an eye only beginning to dim. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
