Translation
The classic says: strengthen the ruler of water so as to quell the light of yang — this is the enriching of yin. Prepared rehmannia 2 nyang; dried raw rehmannia wine-dried over a low fire, and cornus, 1 nyang each; schisandra, dioscorea, moutan bark, bupleurum and the tails of Korean angelica wine-washed, 5 don each; poria with hostwood and alisma 2 don 5 pun each. Powder them, make honey pills the size of parasol-tree seeds, coat with cinnabar, and take fifty to seventy on an empty stomach with salt decoction. One version has no cinnabar. It is also called Jaeum-singi-hwan. — Uihak Jeongjeon 正傳 (Donguibogam · An)
