Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治腹內一切積聚癥塊作痛, 與萬病元同功. 草烏(炮)ㆍ黃連各一兩, 生乾地黃ㆍ貝母ㆍ巴豆霜ㆍ桔梗ㆍ柴胡ㆍ紫菀ㆍ吳茱萸ㆍ菖蒲ㆍ乾薑ㆍ白茯苓ㆍ桂心ㆍ芎藭ㆍ人參ㆍ甘草ㆍ防風ㆍ厚朴ㆍ枳殼ㆍ鱉甲ㆍ川椒ㆍ甘遂各五錢. 右爲末, 麪糊和丸梧子大. 薑湯下三丸或五丸. 《局方》

Translation

Treats accumulation, gathering and concretion lumps of every kind within the abdomen causing pain; its effect is the same as the Myriad Diseases Pill. Aconite (blast-fried) and coptis 1 nyang each; dried fresh rehmannia, fritillaria, croton frost, platycodon, bupleurum, aster, evodia, acorus, dry ginger, white poria, cinnamon heart, chuanxiong, ginseng, licorice, saposhnikovia, magnolia bark, bitter orange, turtle carapace, zanthoxylum and kansui 5 don each. Powder them, make pills with wheat paste the size of a firmiana seed, and take three or five down with ginger decoction. — Hwaje Gukbang 局方 (Donguibogam · Jeokchwi)

The middle term of the Gukbang's three general pills. It shares fifteen medicinals with Warm White Pill and swaps aconite chuan wu for cao wu, adding turtle carapace, fritillaria and rehmannia — a softening and moistening layer that neither of the others has. The source says its effect is the same as the Myriad Diseases Pill, which is a claim about scope, not composition: that formula has thirty-one medicinals to this one's twenty-two and far more toxic ones. **Contains aconite, croton frost and kansui, all toxic.
