治熱嗽生痰. 黃芩ㆍ半夏 各一兩. 右爲末, 薑汁糊和丸梧子大, 薑湯下七十丸. 《入門》
Translation
Treats heat cough that engenders phlegm. Scutellaria and pinellia, 1 nyang each. Grind to a powder, make pills the size of a paulownia seed with a ginger juice paste, and give seventy pills down with ginger decoction. — Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Haesu)
Clinical commentary 臨床
Two drugs in equal weight, and between them they cover the two halves of the indication: scutellaria for the heat, pinellia for the phlegm. Both the paste and the draught that carries the pills are ginger, which is the standard corrective for pinellia and makes the formula effectively a three-drug one.
