Translation

Treats cold phlegm with cough. Cinnamon bark, 2 nyang; arisaema and pinellia, both processed, 1 nyang each. Grind to a powder, make pills the size of a mung bean with steamed cake soaked in ginger juice, and give thirty to fifty down with ginger decoction. — Yeokro 易老 (Donguibogam · Haesu)

Clinical commentary 臨床

One of a set of three from the same hand, and they are worth reading together. Arisaema and pinellia at a nyang each are the fixed part; what changes is the drug above them, and it is chosen by the pattern — cinnamon bark here for a cold phlegm, scutellaria in Sohwang-hwan for a hot one, white atractylodes in Baekchul-hwan for a damp one. The chapter prints the three in three different sections, and the design only becomes visible when they are set side by side. **Contains arisaema and pinellia, both toxic in the raw state, and must be properly processed.** — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
