Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治濕痰咳嗽, 身重脉緩. 白朮一兩半, 南星ㆍ半夏(並製) 各一兩. 右末, 薑汁糊和丸, 薑湯下五七十丸. 《易老》

Translation

Treats damp phlegm with cough, a heavy body and a moderate pulse. White atractylodes, 1 nyang 5 don; arisaema and pinellia, both processed, 1 nyang each. Powder them, make pills with a ginger juice paste, and give fifty to seventy down with ginger decoction. — Yeokro 易老 (Donguibogam · Haesu)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The damp member of the Yeokro trio, with white atractylodes in the lead position that cinnamon bark holds in Gangye-hwan and scutellaria in Sohwang-hwan. 身重脉緩 — a heavy body and a moderate pulse — is the pair of signs the chapter uses for damp throughout, and the formula is the whole of its treatment for a damp cough apart from Bulhwangeumjeonggi-san. **Contains arisaema and pinellia, both toxic in the raw state, and must be properly processed.** — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl.
