jogak appears twice, once for 皂角刺, the spine, among the weighed drugs and once for the 皂角 pod decocted into the binding extract, as the leaf gives both. 禹餘粮 is printed as the transcription and the herb list both have it. 茶淸 is recorded under sechacha, following the corpus.

Clinical commentary 臨床

Sophora root at four nyang over twelve drugs, which makes this the chapter's plainest statement of its leprosy pharmacology: a bitter, cold, damp-drying root for the skin, with siler and schizonepeta to move the wind out, cocklebur and vitex and burdock seed for the surface, and black sesame and fleeceflower root to keep the course from drying the patient out. 加味 marks it as a sophora pill with additions; the Immun's plain 苦參丸 is the base. Gleditsia pod boiled down to an extract binds the pills, which is the same device as Daemapung-hwan and Yupung-dan use — gleditsia runs through all the chapter's leprosy pills, as spine, as pod and as the binder. Limonite is the one mineral here and is doing astringent work. Nothing in the formula reaches Mycobacterium leprae, but sophora root and cnidium fruit would have helped a secondary scabies or fungal infection, which is a real part of what these patients had. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl.
