Translation

Treats a woman whose anger has damaged the liver, with the eyes dim as if in cloud and mist. Korean angelica, white peony, dried raw rehmannia, white atractylodes, red poria, tangerine peel, pinellia, gentian, bupleurum, coptis, gardenia, moutan bark, cardamom and licorice 7 pun each. Cut up as one packet with 3 slices of ginger and 2 jujubes and decoct in water. — Gogeum Uigam 醫鑑 (Donguibogam · An)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Restraining the green means restraining the liver, and the cause is named in the indication: anger. Samul-tang and Ijin-tang underneath with gentian, bupleurum and coptis on top — nothing in it treats the eye directly, because the Uigam is treating what the chapter holds to be dimming it. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
