Translation

Dahurian angelica governs heat-wind headache, and also governs wind dizziness; made into pills and taken, it is called Doryang-hwan. — Bonsa 本事 (Donguibogam · Du)

Clinical commentary 臨床

One drug given a name of its own, which the corpus does only where a single medicinal was held to answer a complaint by itself. Dahurian angelica is the frontal-headache and sinus drug of Korean and Chinese practice and remains the first thing reached for in a pain across the brows with a blocked nose. 都梁 is a place name — the formula is said to be named for where it was first made — and the Bogam, characteristically, records the name without the story. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
