Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治一切眼疾, 內外障瞖. 當歸尾酒洗ㆍ生乾地黃酒浸ㆍ黃栢酒炒ㆍ黃連酒炒ㆍ黃芩酒炒ㆍ柴胡ㆍ白茯苓ㆍ枳殼ㆍ羌活ㆍ防風ㆍ荊芥ㆍ石膏ㆍ甘菊ㆍ蟬退ㆍ車前子(炒)ㆍ密蒙花ㆍ白蒺藜(炒)ㆍ木賊ㆍ靑箱子(炒)ㆍ石決明(煆)ㆍ羚羊角屑ㆍ甘草各五分. 右剉作一貼, 水煎, 食後溫服. 《醫鑑》

Translation

Treats every eye disease and inner and outer obstructing screens. The tails of Korean angelica (wine-washed), dried raw rehmannia (wine-steeped), phellodendron (wine-fried), coptis (wine-fried), scutellaria (wine-fried), bupleurum, poria, bitter orange, notopterygium, saposhnikovia, schizonepeta, gypsum, chrysanthemum, cicada slough, plantago seed (stir-fried), buddleia flower, tribulus (stir-fried), horsetail, celosia seed (stir-fried), abalone shell (calcined), antelope horn shavings and licorice 5 pun each. Clinical commentary 臨床

Twenty-two medicinals at five pun each, and the first five are all wine-processed — the Uigam's habit of aiming a whole formula upward by preparation rather than by selection. It is the decoction counterpart to Hwanjeong-hwan: the same breadth, taken by the packet instead of by the pill. **Antelope horn comes from a CITES-listed species and cannot lawfully be traded; goat horn is used in its place.** — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl.
