Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治目赤腫痛, 淚出眥爛. 蕤仁去殼皮, 硏壓去油二兩, 龍腦二錢半, 生蜜六錢. 右硏勻, 以銅筯蘸少許點之. 治爛弦風歲久連眶赤爛者最效. 《局方》

Translation

Treats the eye red, swollen and painful with tears running and the corners ulcerated. Prinsepia seed with the shell and skin removed, ground and pressed free of its oil, 2 nyang; borneol 2 don 5 pun; raw honey 6 don. Grind them evenly and dot a little on with a copper rod. It is most effective for rotten-rim wind of long standing with the whole socket red and raw. — Gukbang 局方 (Donguibogam · An)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Prinsepia seed with the oil pressed out, borneol and honey — three things and a copper rod to apply them. Pressing the oil out is what makes the paste rather than an ointment, and the honey is the vehicle.
