Translation

Treats taiyin abdominal pain. It is Ijung-tang with tangerine peel and green tangerine peel added in equal parts. — Samin Geukil Byeongjeungbangnon 三因 (Donguibogam · Han)

Clinical commentary 臨床

Ijung-tang with the two tangerine peels, and the addition is well judged: the parent formula warms a cold middle but does nothing to move it, so a patient whose cold comes with distension and fullness needs the qi shifted as well. Green tangerine peel reaches lower and harder than the ripe peel, and using both is the standard way of covering the span. Of the five members of the 理中 family in this section it is the one most often reached for, and it is cited from several other chapters of the book. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
