Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

官粉 五錢, 硫黃 三錢. 右爲末, 雞子淸調搽. 《醫鑑》

Translation

White lead 5 don, sulphur 3 don. Powder them and rub on, mixed with egg white. — Uigam 醫鑑 (Donguibogam · Pi)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The shortest of the lichen-wind applications and the one aimed only at the purple form. Sulphur is the active part, as in every other preparation in this section; the white lead is a white pigment and a thickener, and egg white sets the paste on the skin. **White lead is lead carbonate and sulphur is a skin irritant; this must not be prepared.** Lead is absorbed through skin, and the paste is to be left on patches that may be broken. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
