Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
治外腎脹大麻木痛硬, 謂之木腎. 又治奔豚疝氣偏墜. 川楝子 四十九箇, 先切七箇取肉, 以茴香 二錢半 同炒, 倂留; 又切七箇, 以破故紙 二錢半 同炒, 倂留; 又切七箇, 以黑丑 二錢半 同炒, 倂留; 又切七箇, 以鹽 一錢 同炒, 倂留; 又切七箇, 以斑猫 十四箇 同炒, 去猫; 又切七箇, 以巴豆肉 十四箇 同炒, 去巴; 又切七箇, 以蘿蔔子 二錢半 同炒, 去蘿蔔. 乃入下藥. 茴香(炒)ㆍ木香 各五錢, 辣桂 二錢半. 右爲末, 酒麪糊和丸梧子大, 空心鹽酒下三五十丸. ○瘀血木腎, 以前方加玄胡索 五錢 略炒, 劑之, 以沒藥末和溫酒呑下. 《直指》
Translation
Treats the outer kidney swollen large, numb, painful and hard — this is called wooden kidney. It also treats running-piglet mounting qi with one-sided descent. Forty-nine toosendan fruits. First cut seven and take the flesh, dry-frying them with fennel 2 don 5 pun, and keep both. Cut another seven and fry with psoralea 2 don 5 pun, keeping both. Another seven with black morning-glory seed 2 don 5 pun, keeping both. Another seven with salt 1 don, keeping both. Another seven with fourteen blister beetles, then discard the beetles. Another seven with fourteen croton kernels, then discard the croton. Another seven with radish seed 2 don 5 pun, then discard the radish seed. Now add the remaining medicinals: fennel (stir-fried) and saussurea 5 don each, pungent cinnamon 2 don 5 pun. Powder all, bind with a wine-and-flour paste into pills the size of parasol-tree seeds, and take thirty to fifty on an empty stomach with salted wine. For wooden kidney from static blood, add corydalis 5 don lightly fried to the above, and take the dose down with powdered myrrh in warm wine. — Jikji 直指 (Donguibogam · Jeoneum)
