Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治咳血. 當歸ㆍ白芍藥ㆍ桃仁ㆍ貝母(炒) 各一錢, 白朮ㆍ牡丹皮ㆍ黃芩ㆍ梔子(炒黑) 各八分, 靑皮ㆍ䓀莄各五分, 甘草三分. 右剉, 作一貼, 水煎服. 《回春》

Translation

Treats coughing of blood. Angelica, white peony, peach kernel and fritillaria (stir-fried) 1 don each; white atractylodes, moutan bark, scutellaria and gardenia (stir-fried black) 8 pun each; green tangerine peel and platycodon 5 pun each; licorice 3 pun. Cut up, make one packet, decoct in water and take. — Manbyeong Hoechun 回春 (Donguibogam · Hyeol)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The first of the Hoechun's four formulas that divide 1.15's title into its four words — 咳 cough, 咯 hawk, 唾 spit — and give each its own prescription. This one, for the cough proper, carries peach kernel to move what the coughing has bruised. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
