Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治咯血. 陳皮ㆍ半夏ㆍ茯苓ㆍ知母ㆍ貝母ㆍ生地黃各一錢, 䓀莄ㆍ梔子(炒黑) 各七分, 杏仁ㆍ阿膠珠各五分, 桑白皮一錢半, 甘草五分, 薄桂二分. 右剉, 作一貼, 薑三片, 水煎服. 《回春》

Translation

Treats hawking of blood. Tangerine peel, pinellia, poria, anemarrhena, fritillaria and fresh rehmannia 1 don each; platycodon and gardenia (stir-fried black) 7 pun each; apricot kernel and ass-hide glue beads 5 pun each; mulberry root bark 1 don 5 pun; licorice 5 pun; thin cinnamon 2 pun. Cut up, make one packet, add 3 slices of ginger, decoct in water and take. — Manbyeong Hoechun 回春 (Donguibogam · Hyeol)

Clinical commentary 臨床

咯, hawking, is blood brought up with a clearing of the throat rather than a cough, and the Hoechun reads it as phlegm — Ijin-tang leads the formula.
