Translation
Treats a nose blocked and not passing, so that one cannot breathe. Acorus and gleditsia in equal parts, pounded to a powder; take 1 don, wrap it in cotton wool, pack it into the nostril and lie on the back a little while. — Uihak Gangmok 綱目 (Donguibogam · Bi)
Clinical commentary 臨床
Two medicinals packed in and the patient laid on their back. Gleditsia is the tradition's sternutatory — it provokes a sneeze — and the chapter's other uses of it at 9.18 are for exactly that. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
