Donguibogam

Translation

Treats nasal congestion with a stench, polyps present and no sense of smell. The polyps within the nose are what people call 鼻痔. Melon pedicel and asarum in equal parts, powdered; wrap a bean's worth in cotton wool and pack it into the nose. It turns at once to yellow water that drips until it is spent, and in not more than three or four days it heals. Also called Asarum Powder.

Clinical commentary 臨床

Two medicinals, and the simplest of the three polyp preparations. The yellow water dripping until spent is how the chapter measures the treatment — the polyp is gone when the discharge stops. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
