Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

去鼻痔. 瓜蔕四錢, 甘遂一錢, 枯白礬ㆍ螺殼灰ㆍ草烏尖各五分. 右爲末, 麻油調作丸如鼻孔大, 每日一次以藥納鼻內, 令達痔肉上. 其痔化爲水, 肉皆爛下卽愈. 《入門》

Translation

Removes nasal polyps. Melon pedicel 4 don; kansui 1 don; calcined alum, snail-shell ash and the tips of aconite root 5 pun each. Powder them, mix with sesame oil into pellets the width of the nostril, and once a day put the medicine into the nose so that it reaches the polyp. The polyp turns to water and the flesh all rots away, and it heals.

Clinical commentary 臨床

A caustic pellet made to the width of the nostril and set against the polyp daily. Melon pedicel and kansui are both violent, and the chapter's other polyp formulas are milder versions of the same idea. **Contains kansui and aconite tips, both severely toxic.
