Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治鼻塞不通. 薄荷葉三錢, 荊芥穗一錢半, 蓽澄茄五分. 右末, 蜜丸櫻桃大, 常含化. 《綱目》

Translation

Treats a nose blocked and not passing. Mint leaf 3 don; schizonepeta spike 1 don 5 pun; cubeb 5 pun. Powder them, make honey pills the size of a cherry, and keep one melting in the mouth. — Uihak Gangmok 綱目 (Donguibogam · Bi)

Clinical commentary 臨床

A lozenge for a blocked nose — three aromatics melted slowly in the mouth so the vapour rises behind the palate. It is what a menthol sweet does, arrived at by the same reasoning. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
