Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
治粉刺. 枯白礬 一兩, 生硫黃ㆍ白附子 各二錢. 右爲末, 津唾調搽, 臨臥上藥, 明早洗去. 《醫鑑》
Translation
Treats flour pimples. Calcined alum 1 nyang; raw sulphur and typhonium 2 don each. Powder them, mix with saliva and rub on, applying the medicine at bedtime and washing it off next morning. — Gogeum Uigam 醫鑑 (Donguibogam · Myeon)
Clinical commentary 臨床
Three ingredients, and two of them — sulphur and alum — are what an acne preparation would still be built from. The simplest of the chapter's face pastes and the least objectionable.
