Translation

Treats yin toxin with a green face, cold limbs and a sunken pulse. Cubeb, costus, evodia, whole scorpion, blast-fried aconite and sulphur, 5 don each; dried ginger, 1 don. Powder, make pills the size of a paulownia seed with wine paste, and take thirty with ginger decoction, then follow with hot wine to draw out the sweat. — Uihak Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Han)

Clinical commentary 臨床

A green face with cold limbs and a sunken pulse is central cyanosis with peripheral shutdown, and the formula answers it with every warming drug the pharmacy has: cubeb, evodia, aconite, sulphur, dried ginger, with scorpion to open the channels and costus to move it all. Then hot wine on top to bring the sweat. In a patient whose circulation has failed, driving him to sweat is the wrong direction and the alcohol would make it worse. Sulphur taken internally is toxic and aconite needs no comment; the entry is a record of what was tried. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
