Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
夫心腎眞火, 能生脾肺眞土, 今眞火旣虧, 不能滋養眞土, 故土不制水, 水液妄行, 三焦不瀉, 樞機不運, 腫脹滿溢, 喘息奔急, 股冷舌乾, 不能正偃, 小便不通. 澤瀉 二兩半, 附子(炮) 二兩, 木香ㆍ茴香(炒)ㆍ川椒ㆍ獨活ㆍ厚朴ㆍ白朮(略炒)ㆍ橘皮ㆍ吳茱萸ㆍ桂心 各一兩, 肉豆蔲(煨)ㆍ檳榔 各五錢. 右爲末, 糊丸梧子大. 紫蘇湯下五十丸. 此藥世傳屢驗, 其間君臣佐使與造物同妙. 當屛去諸藥, 一日三服. 且禁慾絶醎半年. 《得效》
Translation
The true fire of heart and kidney is able to engender the true earth of spleen and lung. Now that the true fire is depleted, it cannot enrich and nourish the true earth; therefore earth does not restrain water, the water humour moves recklessly, the three burners do not drain, the pivot does not turn — and there is swelling and distension to overflowing, panting breath that rushes and hurries, cold thighs and dry tongue, inability to lie straight, and urine that will not pass. Alisma 2.5 nyang; aconite (blast-fried) 2 nyang; costus, fennel (stir-fried), zanthoxylum, pubescent angelica, magnolia bark, white atractylodes (lightly stir-fried), tangerine peel, evodia and cinnamon heart 1 nyang each; nutmeg (roasted) and areca 5 don each. Powder them and make paste pills the size of a firmiana seed; take fifty down with a decoction of perilla leaf. This medicine has been proved again and again in common transmission, and in it chief, deputy, assistant and envoy share the marvel of creation itself. All other medicines should be set aside, and it taken three times a day. Desire is to be refrained from and salt cut off for half a year. — Seui Deukhyobang 得效 (Donguibogam · Bujong)
