Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治十八種喉痺俱效, 又治喉風腫痛如神. 大南星 三十五箇, 大半夏ㆍ白礬ㆍ白鹽ㆍ防風ㆍ朴硝 各四兩, 桔梗 二兩, 甘草 一兩, 熟大梅實 一百箇. 先將硝鹽水浸一伏時, 然後將各藥搗碎, 入水拌勻, 方將梅實置於水中, 其水淹過梅子三指爲度, 浸七日取出曬乾, 又入水中浸透曬乾, 擝藥水乾爲度. 方將梅子入磁罐封密, 如霜衣白愈佳. 用時綿裹噙在口中, 徐徐嚥汁, 下痰出卽愈. 《回春》

Translation

Treats all eighteen kinds of throat impediment, and throat wind with swelling and pain, like a spirit. Thirty-five large arisaema; large pinellia, alum, white salt, saposhnikovia and mirabilite 4 nyang each; platycodon 2 nyang; licorice 1 nyang; a hundred ripe large plums. First steep the mirabilite and salt in water a full watch; then pound the other medicines fine and stir them evenly into the water, and set the plums in it, the water standing three fingers above them. Steep seven days, take them out and dry in the sun, then steep them again until soaked through and dry again, until the medicated water is used up. Put the plums in a porcelain jar and seal it tight; the whiter the frost-like coating the better. In use, wrap one in cotton wool and hold it in the mouth, swallowing the juice slowly, and when the phlegm comes down it heals. — Manbyeong Hoechun 回春 (Donguibogam · Inhu)
