Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

一名秘元丹. 治精氣不固. 白龍骨一兩另硏, 大訶子皮五箇, 朱砂五錢內一分爲衣, 縮砂五錢. 右爲末, 糯米糊和丸菉豆大, 朱砂爲衣. 空心, 鹽酒下二丸, 臨臥冷水下三丸, 不可多服. 太秘. 《河間》

Translation

Also called Secret Origin Elixir. Treats the essential qi not secure. White dragon bone 1 nyang, ground separately; large chebula rind five; cinnabar 5 don, of which one pun for the coating; amomum 5 don. Powder them, bind with glutinous rice paste into pills the size of a mung bean, and coat with cinnabar. Take two on an empty stomach with salt wine, and three at bedtime with cold water; do not take many — it is too binding. — Hagan 河間 (Donguibogam · Jeong)

Clinical commentary 臨床

不可多服, 太秘 — do not take many, it is too binding. Liu Wansu's own warning on his formula: dragon bone and chebula are both strong astringents, and a pill of them can lock more than the essence.
