治孕婦下痢膿血. 白朮ㆍ當歸ㆍ黃芩 各三錢. 右剉作一貼, 水煎服. 《正傳》
Translation
Treats a pregnant woman with dysentery of pus and blood. White atractylodes, angelica and scutellaria 3 don each. Cut up, make one packet, decoct in water and take. — Jeongjeon 正傳 (Donguibogam · Buin)
Clinical commentary 臨床
The atractylodes-and-scutellaria pair the chapter calls the sagely medicines for quieting the foetus at 1.16.4, with angelica added and the dose tripled. Even when treating a bowel infection the section keeps the pregnancy's own medicines at the centre.
