Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治姙娠泄瀉, 由食生冷, 當風涼所致. 訶子皮ㆍ白朮各一錢半, 陳皮ㆍ良薑ㆍ木香ㆍ白芍藥(酒炒)ㆍ肉豆蔲(煨)ㆍ甘草(灸) 各一錢. 右剉作一貼, 薑五, 水煎服. 《正傳》

Translation

Treats diarrhoea in pregnancy brought on by eating raw and cold food and by sitting in a cool draught. Chebula peel and white atractylodes 1 don 5 pun each; tangerine peel, lesser galangal, costus, white peony (wine-fried), nutmeg (roasted in ashes) and licorice (mix-fried) 1 don each. Cut up, make one packet, add 5 slices of ginger, decoct in water and take. — Jeongjeon 正傳 (Donguibogam · Buin)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The one warm formula in this section. Chebula and nutmeg bind, galangal and ginger warm, and nothing here is cold — which sets it apart from the dysentery formulas above, where heat is assumed.
