Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治産婦因大喜汗出, 汚衣赤色. 葎草(擣取汁) 二升, 入醋二合和之, 空腹飮一盞, 或濃煮服亦可. 《三因》蝟皮肉主血汗. 皮燒灰米飮調服, 肉煮食之. 《本草》

Translation

Treats a woman after childbirth who from great joy sweats and stains her clothes red. Japanese hop pounded for 2 seung of juice, with 2 hop of vinegar stirred in, a cup drunk on an empty stomach; or boiled thick and taken will also serve. Hedgehog skin and flesh govern bloody sweat: the skin burnt to ash and taken in rice broth, the flesh boiled and eaten. — Samin 三因 (Donguibogam · Hyeol)

Clinical commentary 臨床

因大喜汗出 — sweating from great joy — and the sweat is red. The case is recorded for its trigger as much as its sign: a strong emotion after delivery, in a woman whose blood is already depleted, forcing blood out through the skin.
