Pill formula, bulk amounts: powdered and bound with a wine-and-wheat-flour paste into pills the size of parasol-tree seeds; 70–90 pills with warm wine or salted water. Listed for cases where Kidney and Gate of Life are both vacuous. Note on modern practice: cinnabar (辰砂) is restricted in contemporary U.S. practice and omitted from modern preparation.

Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
治虛勞腎損, 兼補命門陽衰. 鹿茸ㆍ鹿角霜ㆍ鹿角膠ㆍ熟地黃ㆍ當歸 各一兩半, 肉蓯蓉ㆍ酸棗仁ㆍ黃芪ㆍ柏子仁 各七錢, 陽起石(煆)ㆍ附子(炮)ㆍ辰砂(水飛) 各三錢. 右爲末, 以酒麪糊和丸梧子大. 以溫酒或鹽湯下七九十丸. 《丹心》
Translation
Treats vacuity taxation with the Kidney damaged, while also supplementing debilitated Gate of Life Yang. Deer antler, deer antler frost, and deer antler glue, with prepared rehmannia and Korean angelica, 1.5 nyang each; cistanche, sour jujube seed, astragalus, and arborvitae seed, 7 don each; calcined actinolite, blast-fried aconite, and water-ground cinnabar, 3 don each.
