Translation

Treats painful wind with shifting pain, or numbness, or pain of one half of the body. Aconite kusnezoffii, atractylodes lancea and angelica dahurica, 1 nyang each, mixed with boy's urine and ginger and scallion juice and steamed hot; then add frankincense and myrrh, 3 don each, and tangkuei and achyranthes, 5 don each. Powder, make pills the size of a bullet with wine paste, and dissolve one in warm wine. — Uihak Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Pung)

Clinical commentary 臨床

A two-stage preparation: the three harsh drugs are first mixed with boy's urine and ginger and scallion juice and steamed, and only then are the analgesics and blood drugs added. The processing is the formula's safety measure and is also what distinguishes it from the raw-aconite pills elsewhere in the chapter. Aconite kusnezoffii at a nyang remains dangerous however steamed; the indication, shifting pain or numbness or hemibody pain, is broad enough to cover most of what the section treats. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl.
