Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治酒渴. 山藥ㆍ菟絲子 各二兩, 鹿茸(火燎酒浸灸) 一兩. 右爲末, 蜜丸梧子大. 米飮下三五十丸. 《得效》

Translation

Treats drinker's thirst. Dioscorea and cuscuta, 2 nyang each; deer antler (flame-singed, wine-soaked, and roasted) 1 nyang. Powder the above and bind with honey into pills the size of parasol-tree seeds; take 30–50 pills with thin rice water. — Deukhyo 得效 (Donguibogam · Sogal)

Clinical commentary 臨床

The chapter's contrarian answer to wine — where every other drinker's formula clears the heat, this one rebuilds the kidney the drinking spent, on the wager that the thirst is coming from the cellar and not the fire. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
