Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑

治因泄痢或努力脫肛. 蝟皮ㆍ鱉甲各一箇(燒存性), 磁石(煆醋淬七次) 五錢, 桂心三錢. 右爲末, 每二錢, 空心米飮下. 仍用草鞋底灸熱按入. 忌房事. 《入門》

Translation

Treats prolapse of the rectum after diarrhoea or from straining. One hedgehog skin and one turtle shell, both burnt with the nature retained; loadstone (calcined and vinegar-quenched seven times) 5 don; cinnamon heartwood 3 don. Powder them and take 2 don on an empty stomach with rice water. Then heat the sole of a straw sandal and press the prolapse back in with it. Avoid sex. — Uihak Immun 入門 (Donguibogam · Hueum)

Clinical commentary 臨床

草鞋底灸熱按入 — the sole of a straw sandal heated and used to press the prolapse back. A warm padded surface against the perineum while the bowel is reduced, which is a reasonable piece of handling however odd the instrument. — Eui Young (Justin) Chung, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.
