Donguibogam 東醫寶鑑
治喉痛生瘡聲啞. 白硼砂 二錢, 孩兒茶ㆍ靑黛ㆍ滑石ㆍ寒水石 各一錢, 蒲黃ㆍ馬牙硝ㆍ枯白礬 各六分, 黃連ㆍ黃栢 各五分, 片腦 二分. 右細末, 煉化白砂糖和丸芡實大, 臥時舌壓一丸, 自化入喉神效. 一方以葦筒吹少許入喉中亦神效. 《醫鑑》
Translation
Treats throat pain with sores and a lost voice. White borax 2 don; cutch, indigo, talc and glauberite 1 don each; cattail pollen, saltpetre crystal and calcined alum 6 pun each; coptis and phellodendron 5 pun each; borneol 2 pun. Powder finely, melt white sugar and bind into pills the size of a fox-nut; at bedtime hold one under the tongue and it melts of itself down into the throat — divinely effective.
